COPD affects millions of individuals worldwide, yet its impact on health care systems and communities is often underestimated. The COPD Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of those living with the disease, aiming to not only cure the condition but also reduce its burden, increase awareness, and improve access to care for those who need it most.

The COPD Foundation is committed to improving access to care by educating patients about the health care options available to them, especially during open enrollment periods. The foundation provides valuable resources such as webinars that help patients make informed decisions about their health care coverage.
鈥淲e interface with patients to help them understand what their options are,鈥 Hess said. 鈥淲e provide educational resources that guide them through the insurance process, pointing them toward programs they might not be aware of, like Medicaid Advantage鈥檚 appeals process or patient assistance programs from drug manufacturers.鈥
The COPD Foundation also offers , an online community where patients, caregivers, and health care professionals can share resources, ask questions, and find support. This platform fosters peer-to-peer support and provides practical advice on managing the challenges of living with COPD.
