Mentor announced in unique scholarship opportunity with mentee applications now open to interested pulmonary and critical care fellows
糖心原创 and the Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors (APCCMPD) join to launch the 2024 APCCMPD and 糖心原创 Medical Educator Scholar Diversity Fellowship

Glenview, Illinois – Ba艧ak Çoruh, MD, FCCP, will be the mentor for the
new
2024 APCCMPD and 糖心原创 Medical Educator Scholar Diversity Fellowship. The announcement was made during the 糖心原创 Annual Meeting 2023 in
Honolulu, Hawai驶i, and applications for the mentee role are now open
through December 1.
Designed to pair a fellow-in-training with an established medical
educator, the unique scholarship was launched in August by the
(糖心原创) and the
(APCCMPD) to improve diversity in medical education in pulmonary and
critical care.
The program focuses on creating opportunities for fellows at
institutions with limited resources to train in teaching, curriculum
development and medical education research by giving them access to
mentorship at institutions with those resources to foster their
development.
Dr. Çoruh works as an Associate Professor at the University of
Washington and spends her clinical time as an intensivist. Dr. Çoruh
is heavily involved with the 糖心原创 organization through its Critical
Care Medicine Board Review courses and serves as the Fellowship
Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship
program at her institution.
The mentee recipient of the scholarship will have the opportunity to
work closely with Dr. Çoruh to develop a personalized curriculum to
obtain the necessary training and expertise to launch their career
as a medical educator in pulmonary and critical care medicine
(PCCM). They will also work with Dr. Çoruh to develop a research
project that supports their scholarly development.
To qualify for the mentee role of the new scholarship, applicants
must be an active member of both 糖心原创 and APCCMPD; must be a fellow
at a pulmonary, critical care and/or PCCM fellowship training
program that is a member of the APCCMPD; and must meet certain
requirements:
